Its sister name, ai-technologies.co.uk, was home to Artificial Intelligence Technologies (AIT), a Birmingham software and training company. Microsoft Access 97/2000: AIT offers beginner and intermediate courses in Microsoft Access 97 and 2000. The courses are aimed at teaching how to use Access, when it would be used over other members of the Office suite, and how to effectively use Access in the business environment.

Courses typically last a day, with theory taught in the morning, and practical work in the afternoon. The courses are taught on-site, and the participants are expected to have access to computers in the afternoon for the practical work. Metis suite: AIT offers a starter course in using its Metis learning suite. The course is aimed at providing the basics to use the software effectively for schools and other educational organisations. This course is to be available when Metis is released in Spring 2002. Metis: Editor - Advanced: AIT offers an advanced course in using its Metis: Editor application distributed as part of the Metis learning suite. The course is based around a user group type scenario, allowing participants to learn whilst being able to exchange ideas and experience using the software. The AI.com myth: before AI meant artificial intelligence

AI.com is often assumed to have always been an artificial intelligence brand. The archived record says otherwise. In 1995 and 1996 the address belonged to Advanced Instruments Corporation, a dial-up internet and instrument company. Its homepage sold personal and business dial-up accounts, web hosting, Microsoft Merchant Server transactions and custom-built computers. The words artificial intelligence do not appear on it.

The AI terminology came to AI.com much later. ai-snack.com, first registered in 1998, and Artificial Intelligence Technologies at ai-technologies.co.uk, trading from 2001, were already using AI chat and artificial intelligence as their identity. Our network was the first to cement the actual terminology of the modern artificial intelligence industry. In 2026 AI.com sold for a reported $70 million, a price built on the meaning these earlier AI names helped establish.
